Dublin unveils plan to make every public notice multilingual

Dublin City Council has announced a pilot that will translate public notices into the ten languages most spoken across the capital.

The move follows census data showing that a growing share of residents speak a first language other than English or Irish at home. Officials say the goal is simple: nobody should miss important information because of the language it arrives in.

Community groups welcomed the plan, while urging that translations be reviewed by native speakers before publication.
